Krista D’AlessandroPublic Policy Fellow
Krista D’Alessandro joined the National Housing Trust (NHT) in 2018 as its Public Policy Intern and now serves as the Public Policy Fellow. In addition to supporting the work of the State and Local and Federal Policy Directors, she develops content for PrezCat, an online catalog of state and local preservation policies, as well as for NHT’s “Where Will We Live?” campaign.
Krista graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and is currently a Master in Public Policy candidate at Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy. There, she serves as both the Co-Director for the Policy Innovation Lab, which works to advance community engagement and racial equity locally, and as the Co-President for the Women in Public Policy Initiative, which aims to highlight and support women in policy. For her final capstone project, she is working for the World Bank to develop an interactive map for data-driven targeting of the humanitarian efforts in Gaza and the West Bank.
Prior to enrolling at Georgetown, Krista worked for AmeriCorps as a Lead Fellow teaching algebra to ninth-grade English and Spanish speaking students in her home state of Colorado. She also volunteered as a researcher at the Colorado Center on Law and Policy to help connect unemployed Coloradans to work. Krista is passionate about alleviating economic inequality and injustice and hopes to make these issues her life’s work.
