Mark Hunter joined National Housing Trust as Controller in 2019. In previous positions, Mr. Hunter advised the project management office for the FBI Headquarters construction, a $3 billion construction project. Prior to that, Mr. Hunter was the Controller, and ultimately Deputy CFO for global operations for the US Agency for International Development where he was awarded the Distinguished Honor Award.
Mr. Hunter has led a diversity of finance and accounting teams in both Washington and overseas. He has more than two decades of operational and project team leadership experience in Asia, South America, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Hunter started his career as a real estate acquisitions analyst at Lepercq Capital Partners in New York City, precursor to Lexington Realty Trust ("LXP"), a New York Stock Exchange real estate investment trust. He later transitioned to a major investment firm in New York City as an asset manager for office and residential real estate investment portfolios. Mr. Hunter holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in Virginia. Mr. Hunter holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
