NHT Hails Bill to Eliminate Loss of Affordable Housing Through Qualified Contracts 9.10.2019

We are thrilled that this week, legislators introduced The Save Affordable Housing Act, a crucial piece of legislation needed to preserve irreplaceable affordable rental housing serving low-income families. Over the past two years, NHT has led the effort to build congressional understanding and support for this critical legislation.

NHT Communities Wins 2019 Vision Awards 4.22.2019

This week, the Committee of 100 on the Federal City awarded NHT Communities (formerly NHT-Enterprise) the 2019 Vision Award for high-achievement in reasonable planning, land-use and design in developing affordable communities in the Washington, DC area.

GAO and HUD Take a Closer Look at Physical Inspections. 4.22.2019

In March, the GAO released its REAC report, for which Congress called in the 2017 Consolidated Appropriations Act.  The report discusses REAC’s process for identifying physical deficiencies as well as its selection, training, and monitoring of contract inspectors and its own quality assurance inspectors.

This year, WWWL team will continue to distribute the stories and mobilization residents and cross-sector partners in order to elevate their voices. We will also host a cross sector housing forum in Ohio and a resident leadership workshop in South Florida.

Important Energy Efficiency Legislation Awaits VA Governor Northam’s Signature 3.26.2019

In 2018, The Virginia Multifamily Energy Efficiency Coalition (MFEEC) was excited that the Grid Transformation and Security Act (GTSA) was signed into law requiring Dominion and Appalachian Power (ApCo) to seek approval for $1 Billion in energy efficiency programs over the next ten years. In 2019, there is more to celebrate.
